Hi There, Friend!
Welcome to my small, hope-filled corner of the Internet!
My name is Lacy, and I'm a Midwestern transplant living with my husband outside of Los Angeles, CA.
I started Lacy Blaine (Blaine is my middle name) in 2013 as an online place where my passions for creativity and connection could converge.
I began a Masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy in January of 2017. This decision came after years of discerning how to apply my personal mission statement (I listen to others so that they may be known, understood, and loved) within my surrounding community.
Listening for a living is my desire not only in a therapeutic context, but in daily moments. "To pay attention, this is our endless and proper work," writes the poet Mary Oliver, and indeed, it is work enough to last a lifetime. There is much to attend to, and I believe that an eye of love can transform both the beholder and the beheld. To that end, this blog is a place where loving attention is articulated. Like many people who are drawn to journaling, scribbling on cocktail napkins, and blogging, I write to remember and to construct meaning. Here you'll find posts about faith, relationship, and redemption with beauty at the center. And I hope you'll also find these words a worthy companion to your own journey.
When I'm not writing, you can probably find me outside under the shade of a tree, studying for grad school at a local library, spending time with people I love, or trying desperately to make homemade granola bars.
Thanks for stopping by!
